IPL Treatment in Fort Worth
Surface laser is performed when all the larger underlying issues have been addressed, and the remaining veins are too small to inject with a sclerosing agent. At Southwest Vein and Leg in Fort Worth, TX we use IPL (intense pulsed light) technology which is a little different from an actual laser.
How does the IPL Treatment work?
An IPL uses a broad spectrum of high-intensity light, which is emitted at multiple wavelengths. The IPL increase the temperature of the targeted blood vessels and eventually the veins collapse, and are reabsorbed by the body.
What are the risks with IPL?
In very rare occasions, it can cause a permanent pigmentation of the skin. Skin tone plays a large role in how your body will react to the IPL treatments and can have an adverse effect on darker skin tones. We always do several small test treatments, at no cost, to determine which setting will work best for your particular skin tone.
Absolutely incredible!! So professional and state of the art office. Never have to wait. Great about reminders for upcoming appointments. So happy with my results. Kindest staff ever. Highly recommend to all my friends.
Does the IPL procedure hurt?
Most patients say that the procedure feels like a small pin prick or rubber band. We typically perform surface laser in 15 min sessions to limit the amount of discomfort per visit.
