If you have venous reflux disease then you may suffer from a variety of symptoms including swelling, throbbing, and pain in your veins. To help you understand a little bit more about this condition, we have created a list answering some frequently asked questions.

FAQ: What If I Don’t Have My Veins Treated?

Not everyone who has venous reflux has to have their veins treated, but some people should. Some patients have venous reflux for years without any symptoms or changes in this disease which means that they don’t ever have to get treatment. However, other patients have a slow and steady progression of this disease which means that it needs to be taken care of as soon as possible.

FAQ: What Causes Venous Reflux Disease?

We have a long list of things that may have caused you to get venous reflux disease. One of the main causes is a strong family history of vein disease. If your grandma, aunt, dad, mom, sisters, and brothers have it, then that’s probably where you got it from. Additionally, we also see patients with vein disease that stand for long periods of time for a living. Specifically, a lot of flight attendants, hairdressers, waitresses, nurses, doctors, and mechanics tend to have venous reflux because of all of the standing that they do.

FAQ: Are Veins Always Visible If You Have Venous Reflux Disease?

The short answer to this question is no. In the early stages of venous reflux, many patients don’t have any visible signs of this disease. However, as it progresses, that’s when people start to notice that they’re more and more prominent.
